Artificial intelligence (AI) has brought both opportunities and challenges to nursing education in the new era. This study systematically reviews the application scenarios of AI across three major dimensions: the learning process of nursing students, the teaching process of instructors, and the construction of the nursing discipline. It also elaborates on the issues associated with AI, including technological limitations, ethical and privacy concerns, impacts on the capabilities of teachers and students, and the potential weakening of the humanistic core of nursing. It also proposes strategies including cultivating nursing students’ critical thinking skills, strengthening ethical and privacy protection, optimizing the teacher-student interaction process, and promoting the integration of technology and humanities,so as to provide references for the further development of AI in the field of nursing education.
